5 Ways To Fight Chin Acne
Some of us really don't have that bad acne. We grew up with a few pimples here and there, except on one place. It could be our nose, forehead, or body, but for some people they seem to have a problem with constant acne plaguing their chins. They do everything right. They wash their faces every day. They even use different pimple creams to fight break outs that they have, but still the acne just keeps coming back. For this type of persistent acne, a new plan of action is required.
Fighting Chin Acne
When all the normal solutions have failed, it's time to break out unorthodox means of fighting acne. While continuing to use your normal treatments try to add these in as well.
1. Stop Eating Dairy
Milk and cheese are laced with hormones that promote the formation of acne. These hormones cause the follicles to produce more sebum (oil) and clog the pores. One of the easiest solutions to fighting acne is to simply take a break from milk. Instead of that morning bowl of cereal, try a bowl of oatmeal or eggs and toast.
2. Eat More Fish
Wild fish such as salmon are full of omega-3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation. Other great sources of omega-3 are organic or free ranged eggs (sometimes the carton will simply say omega-3 fortified). In addition you can get omega-3 from supplements.
It's important to remember that reducing the intake of omega-6, a pro-inflammatory fatty acid is important as well. Try not to take supplements that also have omega-6 in them. Also stop using vegetable oils and many corn based products as they're laced with omega-6.
3. Get More Sleep
Obtaining regular, full nights of restful sleep is one of the healthiest things you can do for your body. It helps with weight loss, muscle gain, and even prevent acne from developing. When people are sleep deprived their adrenal glands are aggravated causing elevated levels of a hormone called cortisol. This hormone is often linked to stress. While there hasn't been any direct scientific studies on a sleep acne connection, it has been seen that many sufferers of severe or chronic acne often have elevated levels of coristol.
4. Eat Lower Glycemic Index (GI) Foods
Researchers have found an interesting connection between the insulin levels of people who suffer from chronic acne. They found in acne sufferers that their skin had higher than normal levels of glucose in their skin. They also discovered that many of them were somewhat insulin resistant or if they suffered from type 2 diabetes, also had problems with acne. Some research has found that eating foods that spike blood sugars less such as proteins and fiber caused a significant reduction in acne. How exactly insulin and acne interact is still an uncertain.
5. Reduce Your Stress
I'm not going to tell you that yoga will stop you from having acne. It's not yoga that does it. Reducing the stress you feel will protect you from acne. So do whatever it takes for you to relieve stress. Whether it be yoga, tai chi, running, or ring around the rosies, do whatever it takes for you to relief that stress.
If orthodox treatments for you chin acne aren't working, it's time try something different. The acne solutions presented here are the first steps to that something different.
